Melissa is a native of New York, where she graduated with her B.A. in English Writing Arts from SUNY Oswego. As a cancer survivor, survivor of child molestation, an alcoholic parent and single motherhood, Melissa has had her fair share of heartache, failure, disappointment, truth, and triumph. 

Melissa’s first love has always been writing; which she uses to connect with others to share how words can bring meaning to life and can heal the soul. She currently resides in Atlanta, GA. She is the Co-Founder of The Ascend Program, a program designed to assist black and hispanic students transition from college to corporate.
